The Programme Academic Committee shall annually compile a list of Master's Final Projects with an assigned supervisor.
Students shall be able to choose one of two options for completing their Master's Final Project as part of the Master in Informatics Engineering:
Option A: Performance of a Master's Final Project worth 18 ECTS credits. In this case, the Practicum shall be carried out as a work placement. For more information, see the Practicum policy.
Option B: Performance of a Master's Final Project with a larger workload, which includes the work performed as part of the Practicum. The total Master's Final Project workload is equivalent to the credits for both of the enrolled subjects: Practicum (12 ECTS credits) and Master's Final Project (18 ECTS credits), that is, a total of 30 ECTS credits. The Practicum shall constitute the first part of the Master's Final Project (worth 12 ECTS credits). To be eligible for this option, students shall have to apply to the Master's Final Project Commission by the closing dates established for the statement of interest in completing the Practicum as a work placement:
*May for the coming first semester (as of September)
*November for the coming second semester (as of February).
The External Placements Commission, together with the Master's Final Project Commission, may assign an Option A application to Option B if its joint Practicum propossal does not meet the requirements specified for the Practicum as a work placement.
Option B is a better option for Master's Final Project recognition by international higher education institutions where such projects are usually worth 30 ECTS credits.
