Calendar

For each course there are several active calendars depending on the study programme. Please consult each programme for the appropriate calendar.

Class timetables

Class timetables are fixed and cannot be changed. It is the student’s responsibility to draw up a syllabus in which there is no overlapping of timetables. They are available on the pages of each syllabus.

Exams

Examination dates and times are fixed and cannot be changed.

It is not necessary to register for an exam. Once a student is officially registered, he/she is entitled to two exams, one ordinary (January or June) and one extraordinary (always in July). It is advisable to consult the dates and times of both exams in the respective syllabuses (subject guide).

Students may choose to take only one final exam (which, in some subjects, does not eliminate the obligation to hand in practicals). In this case, it is necessary to communicate this decision to the lecturer-coordinator of the subject within a period of time that is indicated in the subject guide. Final exams are held in January or June (depending, of course, on the semester to which the subject belongs).

Language in which the classes are taught

Classes are mostly taught in Spanish, especially in the undergraduate programmes. Some Master’s programmes offer classes in English and Spanish. To find out the language in which classes are taught, please consult the learning guide for each subject.

For all of the above reasons, and so that students can follow the classes normally and make the most of them, it is strongly recommended that students have an officially certified level of Spanish B1 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) or from their own university of origin. Those students who cannot accredit this level must attend the Spanish programme organised by the UPM Language Centre for international students.

Arrival in Madrid and first steps

The ETSIINF is located on the Montegancedo Campus.

How to get to ETSIINF. LINK

Once the student has arrived in Madrid, one of the first things to do is to visit the External Relations Office (OREX) of the ETSIINF to register. There the student will receive all the information necessary to become an ETSIINF student. The OREX is in charge of all the procedures related to students in mobility programmes.

Accommodation
The ETSIINF does not offer accommodation services such as student residences or halls of residence, but you can find information about accommodation on the UPM website or in the International Student Handbook.

You should keep in mind that Madrid is a very expensive city to live in; therefore, you should estimate an approximate amount of €400-500 per month for a room in a shared apartment, plus a similar amount as a deposit. Prices vary depending on the area.

International Student Handbook
For more information not related to academic matters, we recommend reading our International Student Handbook.

Welcome and orientation event

At the beginning of the stay there will be a welcome and orientation event for all ETSIINF mobility students. The exact date will be published well in advance. Attendance at this event is highly recommended, as you will acquire useful information, so that you can make the most of your exchange period at this School. At this event you will also be able to meet the other exchange students at ETSIINF.

  • SPRING Semester 24/25: 4th February at 13:30, H-1003 (Block 1).
